Marisa: You are so absolutely right....I stand corrected.

Sorry I'm comparing apples to oranges. The purpose of CR is to showcase JB, particularly in this case with DC being the new man - I still think Martin made all the right moves and put Daniel in the best light possible. (Mind you, DC looks awesome in any light).

Layer Cake did deliver Daniel as the main character rather surreptitiously. I did remember the apartment scene where XXXX was at odds with himself. Daniel conveyed a lot of emotion without much dialogue. Re: scene with Sienna - hot, hot, hot....His eyes when he first sees her at his door....speaks volumes.

I know! But I honestly was kind of relieved when she came out of the bathroom and found him gone. I would hate to be in her place though. Same with Solange, although we don't see her, I can only imagine her frustration when she comes out of the bathroom and he is no where no be found. Major frustration!

IMO Foster and Dan will match very well, because from what I have read in the meantime, he maybe is as emotionally engaged with his work as Dan is, since he turned down major money(when he was broke) because he didn`t like the script.

Since Dan has had a lot of input in his first Bond, he will now even have more
and being hopefully in terms with his director certainly will help.

You mean the one at Sony in LA?
Yes. Like Germangirl said, since Daniel apparently had quite a lot of input in CR (even down to having a say in the casting of Eva), it isn't hard to imagine that they wanted his opinion in the choice of a new director as well. After all, it's probably crucial that they get along, isn't it?

How odd, I have posted a reply to both Germangirl and Anglo twice and I don't see it anywhere. ???? Anyway, thanks for the input and I am very hopeful, as I said. I cannot wait to see how he is going to approach
Bond 22.

I'm looking forward to it, as I like Mark Forster's other stuff, but I can't help but worry if he's going to provide the same stunning action from CR. Call it silly, but I like action movies even if they're a bit idiotic sometimes. CR obviously wasn't that. But Forster does normally slower paced stuff, yes?

That with the action was also my first doubt when I heard hat my fellow landsman is going to direct the new bond.
But I think Marc actually CAN do action. Of course not like Michael Mann, Ridley Scott or Roland Emmerich but he can. I think this is going to be a fantastic movie, because Marc Foster's very very talented (loved Stranger than Fiction and Monsters Ball!).

The MI6 site provides this:

http://www.mi6.co.uk/sections/articles/ ... php3?t=&s=

No sooner has Marc Forster been officially announced as the director of the 22nd James Bond film (due out November 7th 2008), but the German helmer is slipping some hints about the film to news outlets.

Unlike Casino Royale, where the early stages of pre-production were littered with rumours of possible shooting locations like South Africa and Australia (none of which were ultimately used), the road to Bond 22 has been a rather tight-lipped affair. Until now.

Forster spoke his Swiss media group Blick about taking on Daniel Craig's second outing as 007 on the back of the tremendous success of Casino Royale, and dropped a few hints along the way.

According to the report, the production is considering shooting in the Swiss Alps, where Forster said on is never short of a great panorama. But he also stated that decisions are far from complete due to the heavy use of the locale in the 1969 film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Forster added the potential Swiss scenes may add nothing new.

When quizzed about the Bond Girls in the series, Forster joked that casting the new leading ladies was one of the perks of his new job. But which of the past girls have been his favourites?

Ursula Andress (Honey Rider in 1962's Dr No) is still at the top of the heap according to Forster, but Halle Berry (Jinx in 2002's Die Another Day) - who he directed in her Oscar winning film "Monster's Ball" - is a close tie.

Forster admitted he was completely surprised that he was considered, and won, the role of directing the film. But he said the producers knew exactly what they wanted: not an action director but someone who can deal with actors and had his own visions for the film.

The Swiss Alps means all kinds of snowy Bond action goodness in my mind, so hopefully that will come to pass onscreen. I think mountains like that really lend themselves to great epic action sequences. Fingers crossed that it'll happen. :D

Yesterday I saw "Finding Neverland". First I had it on my DVd rental list, second being the new JB director I was interested in the work of Mark Forster. I found it marvellous and found also a funny coincidence:

In "Finding Neverland" are playing three actors who have been the love interest of DC in former films:

1. Kate Winslet (A Kid in King Arthur's Court)
2. Toby Jones (Hotel splendide, Infamous)
3. Kelly MacDonald (some Voices)
Vesper - Well, I do hope you gave your parents hell for that.

From http://debrief.commanderbond.net/index. ... opic=41696

Source: July 2007 Interview magazine.

There's a great shot of Craig on the cover, with cigar and header: "The Smokin'est Man Alive?" Also a fine interview that shows how well Dan comes across with an intelligent interviewer. The subject of Bond, naturally came up. And Dan made the following comment, among several others you really should check out (especially the positive one about Connery.) Anyway, the comment:

Viewers can expect a lot more humor and jokes this time around.

With Haggis on board, I'm sure the jokes and humor will be good. Any thoughts about a significant increase in humor and jokes? I want to see 22 lighten up and don't at all want to see Bond still moping after Vesper. But...how much humor is enough?

humour sounds good, as long as it is intelligent and subtle- what we don't want is to go back to the bad old days of cheesy laughs (ala roger moore).
