OK, livetwice, here it is:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As fans of Mr. Daniel Craig, we are writing to ask you to consider creating an official homepage for news and information pertaining to Mr. Craig.

Since his early films, Mr. Craig has captivated multiple generations of fans not just in the United Kingdom where its fan base is legion, but around the world, where Casino Royale is seen by millions more every day. It is remarkable that to date the only sources of information and news are websites that are in no way related to Mr. Craig. In many instances, these sources are not reliable or trustworthy.

As a group of those many fans, we know that we would love to see an official homepage dedicated to Mr. Craig, a reliable source of news and information. We would also love to see additional features such as commentaries, outtakes and interviews. We would like to interject here that we understand and respect Mr. Craig’s desire for privacy and only wish to celebrate his great talent. Our request to see an official homepage is motivated solely by our interest in his professional career. It is our hope that this letter will inspire your company to make such an eagerly-awaited Homepage available.

Thank you for your time and thought.

Best regards,

The fans from the dedicatedtodaniel website?? (suggestions here)

well, i for one, as a native english speaker, think you all do amazingly well at translating to a second language. i know i haven't a clue, and am so lucky to be english and not need to know another language completely (and jealous of all your skills). so thanks for all the effort, and i appreciate it must be frustrating. i can't imagine what it'd be like for me to have to try and post in french- i did it at gcse, and have been to paris, but i'm really feeling my way in the dark (in the pitch black with other languages!)- for instance, my attempt at translation of your final comment is... something like...'I would like very much to use a bigger range of vocabulary to explain my passion'- is it anywhere close? or are you suggesting we should begin a new international language of Danielish?!

Marisa,
I like the letter. Good job. I'd put the thumbs up smiley face thingy, but I can't find it. :)

Hey girls this sounds like a very well thought out plan. Marisa, your narative sounds great. You have my vote on this one. Hopefully if Dan's people take a look at this site they will see how many of us there are and maybe they would think that this fan base of his is quite serious and it might push them into action. My only hope is that Daniel agrees to it as you quite rightly said he's not into self promo and seems quite shy about it. Come on girls lets make his people give him the website he deserves. I'm with you on the mentioning that we are only interested in the films, acting etc and not about getting gossip about is private life. Fingers crossed 8)
I will be keeping my eye on our Government's money....and off your perfectly formed arse - You noticed!!

I could imagine the reason for his not having a website is the hate campaign that was going on last year. Perhaps he is afraid that such a site would draw aggressions like a magnet, and he would have all kinds of rude comments on there. Which would probably be true if you look at all those weirdos making snappy remarks on the IMDB forum. There are still enough haters out there. :(

Wouldn't it be possible to create a webside where it is not possible to enter comments. :?: :?:
Only for sharing newest informations and that kind of things?

Yes, I believe that`s possible.
Its up to them just to give out information they want to share with no room for comments. The chance is, that maybe on second thought, they might find it in their interest that facts are known as facts and rumours as what they are.

Marisa, the letter is convincing and serious.

Marisa, the letter is great, well done- you've got my vote.

of course, the website wouldn't need to have any where for users to comment, that's simply a matter of preferences and design.
another thought about how a website could be advantageous to daniel's management team- they could have a shop, selling us official merchandise, like the bond on set book, all his dvds, and t-shirts with the hunk himself on them. so it could be a business opportunity. is this a good idea? i really think it's in their interest to have a vehicle to put out the 'official' news from dan's world, tease us with his forthcoming movie releases, and links to other relevant sites (like Dedicated to Daniel!, or, more seriously, the golden compass site and so on). all that said, i think ashlee, wendy and everyone else have been doing a pretty good job of keeping everything in order on his unofficial site, so well done to them, and perhaps dan's management should employ them to run the official site, because they surely have the expertise!

and thanks, sophie, i feel a bit better now in case i ever return to france (i'd love to, actually, it's just a matter of finding the time, funds, and persuading the husband!). so, thankyou for posting in english, as it means we all get the benefits of everyone else's insights, and i do appreciate it must be frustrating!

could we do a kind of virtual petition, where as many of us add our names to the letter as would like to?
