Yes, I heard that shooting date too. I said, living in England, that I would update you; but there has been absolutely nothing in terms of info available so it must be shotting in a studio or something.

Again, DC is able to keep a low profile! :)

In his first ever stint as an executive producer, British actor Daniel Craig, who found worldwide fame as the new James Bond in Casino Royale, was recently in Cape Town shooting Flashbacks of a Fool, in which he also stars.

This is award-winning music video director Bailie Walsh's debut feature film, having formerly worked with big music names like Massive Attack, Oasis and Kylie Minogue. Walsh also wrote the script for the film, which is independently financed with guaranteed UK distribution through Buena Vista. It is scheduled for an Easter 2008 release.

According to Lene Bausager (Cashback, The Broken) of Left Turn Films who is producing Flashbacks of a Fool together with independent producer Damon Bryant (eXistenZ, Max), Walsh had long wanted to develop a film with his friend Daniel Craig. "Bailie had seen a painting by the artist Manfreddi depicting a boy blissfully running through a cornfield. This inspired his story and was the seed of the screenplay."Because Bailie is a first time feature director, Daniel's role as executive producer has been very important. He was very proactive in dealing with investors, distributors and exhibitors."

You only live twice or so it seems..
One life for yourself and one for your dreams...And one day I realize that I was addicted to Daniel Craig's blue eyes.

I can't get over the fact that Daniel is lovely enough to do this for his friend even now that he has made it big. If I'm not mistaken, exec producing means that you actually have to bring your own money, and try to draw in other investors.
This guy is just too good to be true

I think this quote "which is independently financed with guaranteed UK distribution through Buena Vista." Means DC helped fund it and maybe got others money involved.

He's putting his money where his mouth is! How many times have you guys heard or read him talk about giving back to the industry, particularlythe Brit branch of his own?! And now is really the first time he is capable of doing exactly that, he can attract money for realizing the things that he believes in. I love his integrity and sticking to his idealism!!

TRUE!

He´s said, he developed this movie for years with his friend. So I guess it was kind of in the back of his mind for some time. I can imagine, how happy he was to finally have the clouds to get this done. From what I read, this is exaxctly what he was hoping for, when doing Bond. Happy for him. :D
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

If you watch the layer cake extras on the DVD, you will see that this isn't the only time he has given back. In making Layer cake he was paid the minimum allowed by the union, instead of what he usually made. so the movie could get made with him in it.
