I take this interview with a huge pinch of salt. He's promoting Logan Lucky not Bond and anything he says about the franchise would completely overshadow the release of this film.

So of course he's going to diffuse the situation! Duck and dive and not give anything away.

It struck me how uncomposed he seemed, err-ing and um-ming as if he was rather unprepared for the interview.

Gorgeous speaking voice though. Like honey.....

Yeah. I hope so too that it was professionalism more than anything and that the hint was in the "I would love to do another" etc, etc. There's a chance it could derail it but the question was going to be asked regardless and already more renewed news articles have gone out so either way it was always going to get in the way of LL.

It's difficult to say. It's a ghost that'll follow him around anyway.

Voice like honey? Or was that the honey he was eating in the background? Hahah.

So, now we know, he just Wanted to wait for Colbert.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Yeah I was saying to my husband last night if he did say yes then it could have a good upturn on Logan Lucky. It doesn't necessarily have to be negative that he does mention Bond (a lot of people assume this for whatever reason)... I've always viewed it in the sense that it may convince people to come out and see it. Either way it was an elephant in the room and was going to drive traffic regardless.

I, for one, am very happy for the return of Dan as Bond (obv!) :D

Daniel Craig’s Wild Performance in Logan Lucky Will Make You Forget He Was Ever James Bond
https://gq.com/story/daniel-craig-logan-lucky

In a nutshell, by making the recalcitrant Craig an offer he couldn't refuse. "He really had carte blanche to build this character any way he wanted," Soderbergh tells me. "I said to him, 'I don't care how you look. I don't care how you sound. And you don't have to do any press if you don't want to.' Because I know that going on the Bond press tour is, for him, harder than doing the movie."

"So the ideas would come in in dribs and drabs," the director continues. "'Here's some tattoos. Here's my haircut. I'm working with a dialect guy.' Then he showed up with it; he was ready."

‘Logan Lucky’ Proves Daniel Craig Doesn’t Need James Bond

http://www.slashfilm.com/daniel-craig-d ... ames-bond/
But after seeing his delightfully un-Bond-like performance in Steven Soderbergh‘s Southern-fried heist movie Logan Lucky, it’s more clear than ever that Craig doesn’t actually need the Bond franchise. He may be great at playing 007, but he’s a more exciting actor when he’s allowed to cut loose.

Logan Lucky’ Is ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ in Trumpland—and a Total Blast

http://www.thedailybeast.com/logan-luck ... otal-blast
When it comes to surprises, there may be no bigger one in Logan Lucky than Craig, who here delivers a madly cackling, physically robust tour-de-force, whether he’s changing his clothes in the back of a getaway car while playfully taunting Mellie about peeking at his privates or writing out complex chemical equations for his big “bang” during the climactic heist. Freed from his famous dapper-and-brutish 007 role, Craig seems downright liberated by these backwoods environs. It’ll be a thrill to see what the actor does for his sophomore turn.

Logan Lucky is a fizzy, twisty Southern-fried heist flick: EW review

http://ew.com/movies/2017/08/17/logan-lucky-review/
(Craig is a hoot with his peroxide-blond buzz cut, tattoo-frescoed body, and surprisingly deep knowledge of advanced chemistry, building a bomb out of bleach and gummy bears.)
