Does anyone know if it was Daniel who hit the guys hand on the mirror to make it smash? It looks like him to my eye.

From what I know, he said, it did hurt. So I assume - yes, its him. Ben was clearly there to do some of the fighting though.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Also here is a vid:

If you pause at about 2.43-44 for a split second you can see a reflection in the mirror that looks like Daniel. From behind you really can't tell who it is.

Its clearly Ben for me and also in those seconds you mentioned in the second post. Why won't they let him do it in the second spot? Because throwing a hand into a mirror without hurting the man is not easy. Same is, when Ben takes the guy in the embassay through the window. Its clearly Ben, because HE knows, how to throw him without hurting him.

Actually your wrong

I've paused the video a number of times and the reflection in the window is clearly Daniel grimacing before he smashed the hand against the mirror. It is Daniel, you need to pause it a number of time but it is most definitely him. In CR, the face-replacement technology isn't as sophisticated as SF so the cuts between Daniel and Ben are more obvious (if your keeping an eye out for them) but in this case I'm fairly certain it's Dan. Just watch the vid again and keep hitting spacebar.

I think Vanquish is right. I hit the pause button about 1000 times to get the right nano second. It's clearly Dan in the mirror and in the shot from behind you can see his ears.

The ears and the arse always give Ben away

To everyone else's eyes what is it that causes the mirror the smash? The gun, or the guy's hand?

Also Dan's grimacing pushing the face into the water looks weird. but I guess he is in the midst of killing a man for the first time who is struggling under the water a lot.

That outfit is truly awful. It looks like Bond is in his pyjamas.

There is some truth in that. The shirt is just not long enough. The color is good though.
