But Bond has to be shown at the beginning bumping into the guy who then gets mistaken for Bond by the baddies, who chase him. I thought the ad was quite good.

Yeah, I know, for logical reasons, it had to be that way. I liked it, too.

I didn't even REALLY expect him to be in it at all.

The Heineken ad attached to Casino Royal only had Vesper in it and the ad attached to QoS only showed 3 seconds of footage from the movie and a glimpse of Camille.

So I'm grateful (even for the Archangel beginning  )

Not a sexy Daniel. Something's wrong - his head looks round, the short hair... Oh well, it makes no difference to me after seeing the new papz pics over the weekend  I guess for me, it's about having to defend him and myself to my friends and family if he doesn't look hot in Bond. "No, but really, this is just a bad look! He's so much better looking than in the movie!!!" I can see myself having to repeat that a lot :? . I hope not.

I personally don’t think Daniel needs defending, they broke the mould with him, cookie cutter actors are a dime a dozen. He will never be everyone’s cup of tea pure and simply because he himself doesn’t give a F--k. I just wouldn’t rise to the bait, being shallow, and superficial isn’t an attractive trait and there is a lot more to Daniel than his looks. peace:

But Jes, looks IS important, when you are a movie star at his age. Audiences are not paying for tix, because he is such a nice human being. He needs to keep up the sexappeal, at least for a role like this and hopefully, he was able to do that, despite the haircut.

I am fighting with it. Sometimes its ok, then again not. He will need a lot of sexappeal to make this hair work. But we know, he has it in spades, so I am hopeful. And yes, I think defending comes with the territory of being a fan.
:peace2:

BTW - he looks rather handsome, when he turns around and hands over the beer. Can't find the pic right now.

I know looks are important, but it is not the be and end all, I'm just balking at the prevailing if he/she doesn't always look RIGHT here must be something wrong with them and they need to get FIXED. If their not perfect or on point, we now have to come up with excuses to defend, mitigate the imperfection. I Just feel sad that we are becoming so unaccepting.

Honestly Jes, I do believe, its less unaccepting then being worried, that other, who are less "nice" might hit at him for not looking his best. That's all. I think, its legitimate, that we want the best for him and that SFis not only a hit as a film but also for him personally.

I know, where you come from with your saying, but I think, its more because of what I said above.

Personally, after all these years, his looks how ever that might be, will not be able to drive me away anymore, because there is a deeper feeling, I have for him, that doesn't depend on looks. But this is just me and some others. The rest are just fans, who will turn awy, if the look doesn't suit them. We might not like that, but that's the way it is. And as a leading roles actor, he needs fans. I hope, that he will hit the ground running with his SNL gig. He will have a top notch rating, as there will be those, who like him and those, who don't, and want to see him fail, who will watch it.

Thanks JEC, a much better shot.

Regarding defending my taste for Daniel, it's all in good fun with my friends and family. And I like them to think that I have good taste  . Too, what Daniel does to his hair and body is his decision - unfortunately he doesn't check in with us. So we take him as he comes. And roll with him to the next stage in his life. But everyone who knows I 'like' DC will be watching SNL. I just hope he looks good. Yep, superficial. But I am superficial too. If he hadn't caught my eye in CR, I wouldn't have followed him since. I wasn't following Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, or Pierce Brosnon, or anyone. It was DC's looks. Later I found out that I really LIKE the guy.
