Yep. I think one of the reasons he is in it is exactly Cambodia. I've read somewhere about the shooting of Lara Croft and how the cast and crew were instructed to walk only to the marked roads....otherwise risking to be blown by something... So from time to time he shows up...

Nope. He always had this scar there. You can't make the cut for this there. If it is there you can't do anything.. Usually the cuts are made just in front ot the ear(see the pic below), below the chin and up the hair line... So for me no signs for such a thing. This scar is most likely from a ear correction/adjustment.

Looking at pics when he was child you can see that his ears were way more protruding
