As far as I know the DVDs in region 1 had a different voice over.
Region 2 had Sir Attenborough voice but the US version had Sigourney Weaver

Thing is that people like to hear a familiar voice when watching that kind of movie. That's why they use know actors or the ususal dubbing actors for dubbed versions. I can understand that, but now with Daniel being known in the US (maybe even more after C&A and Tattoo) I can imagine that they don't make a new soundtrack for the region 1 release.
