Thank you SG, that was interesting. It's good to have a clip like this from his early career because we get some idea of his great versatility as an actor.

I watched The Rover tonight - though I confess I skipped through sizeable chunks of it to concentrate on DC's performance.
It was interesting because I've never seen any plays by Aphra Behn, though I've seen a couple of Restoration Comedies before.
So strange to see him act in a theatrical manner, though in the middle when his character has been humiliated I did find myself feeling quite moved by his portrayal. Scary towards the end when he attempts to rape the female lead.
The thing that really strikes me is his range as an actor - from bumbling fool to crushed victim to vicious aggressor, all in one play and all done very convincingly.
Glad I watched it - many thanks to Dunda for introducing me to it!

Laughing Laughing It was certainly very theatrical and over the top, lots of rolling around and overblown gestures. I prefer the subtlety of his film work.

Oh dear Laughing

I will never forget, how we watched this with 5 or 6 people ending it with: Daniel is the ONLY one I would care to watch this for 2 hours plus Twisted Evil

But its worth having a look for sure just see what he was like at the age.
