Daniel Craig says he's a bit out of shape

Post by mickey01 »

Hi everyone,

Just found this - doesn't look flabby to me - skinnier than when he was Bond but still in good shape:

Daniel Craig says he's a bit out of shape but is putting the muscles back

James Bond says his rippling muscles have gone a little flabby.

Bond star Daniel Craig told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival that he had let himself go a little since putting himself through a tough fitness regimen for "Casino Royale." "I had some down time," Craig said Monday. "I got to enjoy myself a bit. I'm getting back into shape now, I'm kind of building myself up again."

Craig, 39, said the script had not been finalized for the next Bond film, which does not yet have a title.

The last 007 film was "very successful," Craig said. "We have to make the next one, I think, better than the last one to keep people happy."

Craig was in Cannes for a preview of "The Golden Compass," a fantasy adventure that also stars Nicole Kidman. It will hit screens worldwide in December.

Hmm. I'm sure he's not that out of shape. :D :D

There's another post on another website, saying how great he looked. Here it is:

Besides, we had enough to keep us occupied.

Particularly Daniel Craig in jeans. He changed clothing. Tux was gone replaced by plain white tee shirt and jeans and EVERYTHING was bulging. Arms were bulging, abs were defined, quads were popping out… I was sitting next to a gay man, he could barely control himself. Nor could I.

Daniel and girl made their way over to pay respects to George. At one point, while squeezing past, he touched my back to slide my chair over.

They were drinking Grey Goose straight – Daniel pouring into glasses, passing all around. Like I said, it had a very fraternity feel to it, everyone was in great spirits, a lot of laughing. George has a great laugh. And everyone thinks what he says is funny. It’s kind of nauseating in that private member’s club kind of way, you know what I mean?

And then he left. Hand in hand with the girl and a bodyguard, down the steps into what I can only describe as the palm tree garden, joking all the while with his minder and hand always tucked into hers. But my smutty sense was tingling. Just a feeling. That he’s one of those guys who prefers no hassle, no drama…like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. She was Julia Roberts, you get where I’m going? That’s exactly what I think it was. I think.

I'm not sure who the last paragraph is talking about; George Clooney or DC.

I think DC is just self-depricating, just like the rest of us. :D :D

Great to read this stuff!!!! George Clooney and Daniel together in 1 room....wow...that would definetely be too much for me to handle....

He does not look one bit out of shape to me, in fact, I think he is looking better than ever. And I am with Renske, George and Daniel in one room? Just the thought makes me drool! To have been there! SIGH

Now, that last paragraph sounds more like George Clooney. It's well known that he is allergic to marriage and commitment.

Daniel flabby? Oh puhleese! But I like that he's confident enough in himself to say "yeah, I've gotten a little soft"

But if it's true, and if he didn't have Satsuki, I'd volunteer to help him "work it off" *ahem*

Well, I take that with a grain of salt. Going a little soft and 'flabby' are two different things and I think the media just likes to use words that catch attention.

That other article that mentioned Daniel 'bulging' (arms, quads, abs) makes me think otherwise. I like how she states "I was sitting beside a gay man who could hardly contain himself. Neither could I". Priceless! Daniel in jeans and a white t-shirt? My head is spinning!!

I take 'soft' as in not as big. He's 'building himself up' again. I know he made some comment somewhere about having to drink protein shakes every 15 minutes when he was in training for CR. I'm sure he backed off those for a while but will be getting back in that swing for Bond round 2.

He hardly looks the type to let himself go. Seriously. But should that need verification, I'll volunteer in a heartbeat.

I am sure DC, because the hand in hand and hand always tucked into hers sounds definitely like him. :D He sort of never lets go.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

 Whoa, where did you find that?

I was a bit surprised to read that Dan is already building up again for Bond 22. He sure does start early, but it's good to know that he's keeping fit. 8) And it makes sense now that he won't do Blindness, if it's true that he'd have to shed a lot of weight for that role.

It was at the bottom of the LindsayGossip.com article that was posted on DtD front page yesterday.

Dan sure looks out of shape

Maybe he wants to do the whole thing a bit slower this time - I think there was some talk that the Bond muscle was built in a day (or so)? I wonder also about "I, Lucifer" - did the shooting begin earlier than the new haircut appeared? Is he actually doing that?!

No one knows.

Hey I've missed you. How are things in Hyperborea?

It's strange - we can't figure that one out. If he starts shooting Flashbacks of a Fool on May 28th as speculated there is no time now, so who knows? :? :?

As regards to the shirt thing, yum!! 8) 8)

Have been missing you guys! Hyperborea is v. busy, been moving the project office and trying to get some of my own stuff done as well - yesterday afternoon I was so tired that I had a two hour nap and then decided it was better to relax and turn on DtD, slept soundly after that...

I was also wondering about I, Lucifer because yesterday I stumbled on some stuff about Ewan McGregor who is supposedly the other lead character in the film and the bit said he was again motorcycling around the world... Time will tell, I suppose.

I've also missed all Hyperborean Cannes coverage as I have no TV, but I would suppose that the horrid disinterest towards Daniel continues northwards as well. :x
