I saw it too. Looked a bid odd.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

...I saw it too. The stage was in the centre of the seats. Wood, fresh clean wood everywhere. Seats on both sides. The look at the stage works from every angle. IMO, it looks a little bit  like a boxing ring with no barrier. I have no idea, but I have to admit, modern adaptiones can bring/can show...very unexpected things. The look of the stage, the costumes, the story...
I read...3 hours. Long time  for to sit still and to follow the play. Overhuge bonus! I imagine you can see a 360° Daniel!

I just want to know how the first night went....
Was Daniel nervous beforehand?
Was he elated afterwards?
It was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning...
Nothing on Google. I was hoping stage door pix would have surfaced already... :?

Not sure that he did stage door. David O signed some programmes but nothing from Daniel has shown up.

Yep, I saw the same thing. I heard there's no stage door at the NYTW. Actors enter and exit out the lobby according to the website I read so he probably gonna be making quick darts if he doesn't wanna do it.

Fine by me. I have other things I can be getting on with in NYC. Would just rather know beforehand so I'm not wasting time sitting around for absolutely nothing.

Nothing to really update about my mate. She saw him, you saw the news reports/YouTube vids etc, and there isn't really anything additional to say now other than that as its been all quoted over and over by now... She was over the moon though obviously :).

Saw the incredible, moving Othello @NYTW79 tonight. Just amazing. Set is like walking into plywood coffin, and sitting in it 4 3 short hours

First half of Othello @NYTW79 belongs 2 amazing Daniel Craig's Iago. Second half belongs 2 amazing David Oyelowo's Othello. I cried at end.

David Oyelowo's final scene so powerful man in front of me yelps: "Oh my GOD!" Brilliantly imaginative & thought-provoking Othello @NYTW79

How come, they have returns, when the "reviews" are so great?
