I watched recently in Youtube an interview from CR times. Haven't seen it before ...and Daniel said he is contracted for 5....so my "call it a hunch" is that he knew exactly what he is doing from the start....and that's it.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..
