Great find. Thanks Frenchy :D
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Does Daniel understand French? Do we know?

I dont see any device in his ear or otherwise thru which he can get the translation.. just wondering

All those old Bond Movie scenes are hilarious and cringeworhty :rotfl:
that scene from Moonraker where Bond gets pushed from the plane ---- oh god - cant believe people have watched that with a staight face! I laughed and laughed and laughed :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ah Oui, c'est formidable! 8)
That's all the French I know...!
Still, I agree it's nice just to look at Daniel even if you can't understand the language. Looking good, as ever. There were moments when they were playing clips when he seemed to go a bit pink? I also like listening to the French language even though I can't speak it. I wish I had done better in my French classes... can you imagine living and working in Paris?? Amazing. I think Daniel probably understood a bit of it. He's worked abroad a lot and must pick up some words.

I don't remember the name of the show, but he was with Lea and Monica and he had an ear piece in, and at one point he asked them to repeat the question. So no, I don't think he knows French.

Right, I remember that, too. I suppose, he knows the odd word, but not enough to actually do an interview.

At one point in the interview he did say avec, so he must know the basics, or Lea and Christoph gave him a crash course.

I don't have a problem understanding the French, but it's really hard for me to understand what Daniel says/what is translated because it's two foreign languages at once and I have a hard time telling them apart and concentrating on just one of them, like I could do if Daniel was translated to German :?
