Have you seen this...

Just a small article really. Not very interesting, and probably untrue, but still.

Maria: From Russia with love
TENNIS babe Maria Sharapova’s greatest ambition is to be a Bond girl.
The 6ft 2in Russian blonde adores the secret agent, choosing current 007 Daniel Craig as her dream tennis partner.
And Maria, 20, says her favourite hobby is SPYING. She adds: “I’m really good at manipulating people. And I’m great at spying — I should have been Sherlock Holmes.”
Sharapova — who wowed Wimbledon crowds on Tuesday by thrashing Yung Jan-Chan — claims on her website that her second favourite dream doubles partner would be Russian leader President Vladimir Putin.
And he is a former KGB officer.
A pal of the 2004 Wimbledon champion yesterday said: “Maria obviously wants to thrash everyone in the tournament.
“But her biggest dream is to be a Bond girl. She’s always talking about it.
“Maria loves the James Bond films and all the glamour associated with the role. And with her Russian blood, she thinks she would be perfect.”

Anybody else have any 'dream' Bond girls? Obviously one of us would be good 8) but any other interesting actresses you have thought of?

Sharapova? LOL. I'm just watching her play on Wimbledon....she's still so young, ans she looks very young too...and re. the looks, quite a normal beauty...not stunning, like a Bond girl should be....

 Frightening! (and not very humble, I must say). I would not like Sharapova as a Bond girl, but she seems to be so ambitious that who knows? she could manage to achieve her goal! Tremble Daniel!

Look how they're twisting Daniel's words around again.
More Humor in Bond 22?
Source: Daily Express
July 13, 2007

Daily Express talked to Daniel Craig who said you can expect more humor in Bond 22.

"They [the producers] just want more gags," he said. "The next one's going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags. They're all great names – but that's the thing, the Bond jokes will be flipped on their heads."

The 39-year-old actor is keen to make Bond his own creation and that will apparently mean showing a softer, less macho side to the character.

"Bond is supposedly the most male moment [in film] but to me he's never been macho. That Bond is something that Sean Connery created in Dr No," he said.

"I don't know Sean but I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley – he was a big strong guy and he had a big male presence about him.

"Everybody was in an uproar when he was going to be James Bond. He got flak because he was basically an Edinburgh bricklayer. And everyone who read the books thought how can he possibly do it? But he created a style that was unique and kind of sexy."

Not that Daniel wants to imitate Connery or any other preceding Bond, adding: "There's no point in trying to compete with every Bond that came before. You manage to make it your own."
"They just want more gags, Pussy Galore style"?! He never said that. They just took quotes from the STW interview and warped them to fit their purposes. The Daily Express didn't even talk to him like they are claiming.

GAWD. Press people

They sure are apologizing for that one!

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

I have to justify the mistake, believe it or not; although it is the BBC apologizing, a company was contracted to make the documentary and then the preview - so it's not truly the BBC's fault, although everybody jumps on them because they are such a highly-esteemed company.

To explain the situation, basically there is to be a documentary shown on the BBC in the autumn profiling a year in the life of the Queen. In it, the Queen poses for the photographer Annie Liebowitz and Liebowitz says something along the lines of 'I think we should take the crown off, it looks too regal'.
The next clip shown in the preview was of the Queen walking (desribed by the media as 'storming') out of the room muttering something like 'I'm not being told what to do!'. When this was shown to the media they took it as if the Queen had thrown a wobbly and was stroppy, but in fact the images were shown in the wrong order and the Queen was not storming out of the photo session and was not as narked by Liebowitz's comments.
As a result, the BBC has been given a hammering because it has 'misrepresented the head of state', but in the circumstances it is plausible to believe that they didn't actually know the real sequence of events.

Unfortunately most of the detail regarding the whole sequence has been kept secret, I don't know why. The BBC has made a formal apology but now many are saying that the head of BBC One should resign, especially after a recent scandal with a programme called Blue Peter and competition fixing.
(For those of you that don't know this story, in short an esteemed children's TV programme was fined £50,000 because they had a phone-in competition but actually because there was a blip with the computer they just chose a member of the audience on set that day to receive the prize).

In other words, not a very good week for the BBC, but I still feel strongly that the BBC should not be made a scapegoat just because of the Blue Peter saga.

I just have to post this here. Thankfully Wendy gave a heads up on the DtD homepage and posted a link to the myspace blog of London-based musician Bobby Kray, who apparently ran into Daniel at a family dinner last week. Here's what he writes:

This week

Okay, it's not everyday someone can say this but I had dinner with James Bond!!!! I did, honestly.

Tuesday. I had a photo session with Nigel to get the final images for the second single cover. We did it in East London near the river Lea. Then, later on i helped (briefly) my friend Donell with his shoot for his final Uni thing, he really does have a great eye for images. That one we did in Hoxton Square. After that i had to dash off to dinner at Garfields. It was a sort of fairwell supper for our friends Nick and Chris who have just recently gotten married and are due to go back to Kenya soon. I sang at their wedding in Somerset a couple of weeks ago at another friends beautiful 14th century (still working Organic) farm. I also ending up sleeping in the back seat of my car and i cried like a bitch at the ceremony but what's your point?? Lol. Anyway, back to the point.

I turned up on Tuesday evening and greeted everyone in the room as per usual. It was really nice to see everyone turn up. Whether it was for Nick and Chris or just the food, who's to say...... Equally special. :-)

I walk into the room, Hi hi hi hi hi hi's to everyone and then walk out onto the balcony and am greeted by Daniel Craig. I don't get start struck but i was slightly taken a back at this. lol. know Daniel is in "The Family" but we've never met before. I wish now that i had seen the rest of the bloody Casino Royale and not just the parts i had to study to play my part in the Silly Games video. Damm. We did talk alot about recycling bits of old wood into furniture....... As you do.

Bloody nice chap though, and his missus. Lovely lady. OH, but don't even get me started on the food. Andrea Oliver is a cullinery goddess. Nigela and Delia ain't got nothin on her!!!!! She made my favourite mushroom risotto.....for the second time in one week. I've obviously done something right for that to happen.

So that's another thing to check off from my list of 'Things to do before I'm thirty or, at the very least, before i die List'......Have dinner with James Bond....CHECK. Wahey. lol
Isn't that sweet? :D
Thanks for finding this, Wendy!!

every lady would surely like to star as the bond girl

however a bond girl should be an actress, not just a "cute face"
so far my favorite bond girl is Eva Green *thumbs up* she's classy

to me it looks like those model girls (and others who are not actresses) wanna be bond girls just coz its smth like to be half-naked on main page of magazines, it's "in fashion"

good movies need good actors and actresses, so i hope and believe that the production team will choose real ones, not just those "cute faces"

I would hope and think that they are aware of the fact, that it will only work, if she can act and looks right next to Dans Bond.

Just saw this:
We all know where the Abbie Cornish Bond rumors came from, why don’t her reps?

Posted by Matt Holmes in Movie News on Sun 05 Aug 2007

Abbie CornishAbbie Cornish doesn’t feel like a Bond girl to me. She’s too geeky, too lovable in a cute way. She’s not sassy or feisty or Eva Green for that matter. I know it’s hard to top Green but Cornish isn’t the one for me.

Cornishs’ reps have shot down those reports last week that she had already got the Bond girl job in the currently untitled next 007 film. The following comes from the Sunday Morning Herald…

“No, I can tell you that that information is not accurate,” her agent Belinda Maxwell said today. She said she had no idea where the false reports were coming from…. “

I can reiterate that that’s not accurate information.”

Well we all know where it came from. It was her Aussie actress friend Rose Bryne who spilled the news to MTV. OK, maybe she was doing Cornish a favour and she may very well have added her to the Bond girl mix right now but this wasn’t a rumor that we started.

Eva Green showed a Bond girl who could stand toe to toe with the personality of Bond, especially the one projected by the “Man God” Daniel Craig and it worked. It really worked. She was the most interesting Bond girl there’s been since the 70’s and the only one that conjured up an emotional reaction to the viewer at the end.

They need to keep with this direction and sadly for Cornish, she just doesn’t have it.

I agree with this guy.
