Two new Daniel Craig biographies can be added to the list of upcoming literary James Bond releases later this year. Both Daniel Craig by Daniel O’Brien and Daniel Craig: The Biography by Sarah Marshall are scheduled to be released in September 2007.

Daniel Craig will be published by Reynolds & Hearn Ltd and can currently be pre-ordered at amazon.co.uk. The hardback is due out on 6 September.

Daniel Craig: The Biography is set to be published by John Blake Publishing Ltd and can also be pre-ordered at amazon.co.uk. The ful blurb:

I know there are a lot of "ghost books" about Daniel on Amazon, but CommanderBond is a pretty on-top-of-it website, suppose there's truth to this one?

Thanks HappyAppy04. I hope that these books will be available here in North America. So many things on my wishlist...and so little time. I received my "Love is the Devil" last week and have yet to crack open the package.

One of them is available to preorder on amazon.com. I've signed up for the 'alert' when it comes into stock in September. The other one is only on the UK Amazon site.

Hopefully they'll both be available to the north american Daniel-aholic population eventually...

If it weren't for Netflix, I wouldn't have seen half of Daniel's movies. As it is, I still have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm a little torn about reading a Daniel biography. On one hand, I'm nosy and would love to read it (it's about Daniel, I mean, are you KIDDING me?!?) but on the other hand, having heard what a private man Daniel is, I feel like it's a rotten invasion of privacy. I kind of like not knowing every detail of his life, like so many overexposed stars these days.

Or maybe I'm internalizing this WAY too much...

nah, know how you feel. I am soooo nosy but it's going to be 100% paparazzi, there's no way he, his current family/friends are going to have anything to do with it. Bummer, I hate temptation...

I don't think these biographies are a collaboration with Daniel. I honestly doubt that he has told these authors everything about his life. I bet he has not even talked to them. This is just another attempt to exploit his new found fame and make money off the situation. My guess is that these books are a compilation of all the news, stories, articles etc., and photos, floating around. I would be very surprised to learn that he has disclosed personal and private information for these publications.

While it seems unlikely that he would disclose much, I'm sure that they found something more than articles to work off of, or else they couldn't make a very interesting or publishable book. Perhaps they pestered him, or a friend of his, or his ex-wife, or something. Who knows. I will grant you that they might have talked to some people who knew or knows Daniel. I just visited the Amazon UK website and learned that one of the bios is written by Sarah Marshall, and while she does introduce some "new" information about the celebs she's written about, most of it is already out there, and then she plumps the books nicely with her own writings. They read very much like a paperback novel. I don't know who is writing the other biography.
I shouldn't bother saying anything, regardless of what's in between the two covers of those books, my curiosity is going to drive me to buy them in the hopes of learning something new about Daniel.

Y'all are thinking the same things I am. I'm usually hesitant to read anything that isn't "Authorized" by the subject his/herself but when I do, it's *always* with a grain of salt.

I kind of think a biography now, at this point and time in Daniel's career, is silly. He still has many many many years (hopefully) of acting ahead of him and who knows the stories that could be told in 10 years? 20 years? It's not as if he has peaked in his popularity and this is a be all end all biography....

In total agreement. Can you imagine how terribly interesting an authorized biography of his would be in 20, 25 years from now? And, how it usually happens with most celeb bios, by then he might be more inclined to disclose personal information. THAT I want to read! Of course, I would prefer not to have to wait that long...

I agree with Marisa and HappyAppy there. While I'll find some way to read it, what's going to be in it? It's a good story, but there's too much still to be added on. I imagine it's going to be like hearing a wine specialist talk about thousands of years of grape cultivation, because they haven't actually had a chance to try the bottle they're supposed to discuss...they just know that some people liked it.

No it wasn't. Quite spot-on IMO. Funny thing is, when a biography comes out I'm probably going to buy it anyway, just to see if it has any nice pictures in it.
